Dnyanadians attend Space Park Camp
Dnyanadians attended a two days Space Park Camp at Pune organized by Science Department of Dnyanada English School. 109 students from Step 6 to 10 attended this Camp. During the course of the camp the students visited and gained information about IUCAA Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics. This institution is involved in the making of The South African Large Telescope (SALT) and activities related to it. It also has an Observatory built at Girawali. It also provides guidance and facilities to the post graduate and graduate students for research in astronomy and astrophysics. The students and were also involved in many interesting activities like various ‘Space Rides’ like ‘Moon Walk ‘, ‘Force G or Centrifuge Ride’, and ‘Space Elevator ‘ . Students were provided information about the various stars and constellations and concepts related to astronomy such as ‘Roche Lobes’, ‘Seirpinski Gasket’, ‘Sky Dome’ . They also observed instruments such as Faucault Pendulum. The students were given a virtual experience of Space Travel and also the Launching process of Satellites such as Chandrayan. The Camp proved to be an awesome and enriching experience for the students who attended it.
