Understanding the Purpose of Parenting

A session dedicated to exploring the core purpose of parenting was held on December 7, 2024, for the parents of students in classes 1st to 5th at DNYANADA ENGLISH SCHOOL. The session, led by renowned counselor Gayatri Randad, provided valuable insights into the essential role parents play in the early development of their children.
The interactive session focused on how parenting shapes not only academic performance but also emotional and social growth. Gayatri Randad, a seasoned counselor with years of experience, highlighted the importance of understanding a child’s unique needs during these formative years. Through her guidance, parents were encouraged to reflect on their parenting styles and learn new strategies to create a balanced and nurturing environment for their children.
During the session, Randad emphasized the purpose of parenting as being not just about academic success, but fostering emotional intelligence, discipline, and building a secure foundation for lifelong learning. She discussed how positive reinforcement, consistent communication, and emotional support play a crucial role in helping children develop self-confidence and resilience.
Parents were given practical tools and strategies to engage effectively with their children, ensuring they feel heard and supported. The session also stressed the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance, managing stress, and cultivating a positive home environment.
The session was well-received by the parents, who appreciated the opportunity to gain deeper insights into their children’s emotional needs and how they can contribute to their overall well-being.
“This session has really opened my eyes to the importance of our role as parents beyond academics. I feel more equipped to support my child’s emotional and psychological growth,” said one parent in attendance.
The school plans to hold similar sessions in the future to further strengthen the parent-child relationship and promote holistic development for students.
